ISSUE INTRODUCTION
March 11, 2007

Article 46

The new look of 2007 took shape with a lot of staff changes for 2007. Now, the new look of the roster begins to
be molded following the combine. For the General Manager and Director of Player Personnel at heart, this
period of time is always the most exciting save for the actual start of the season. The movement of players, both
through each teams' combine and free agency gives hope and builds enthusiasm each year as the season
nears. Often times, the way one or two players fit into a new system can make a big impact on the success of a
team. The Coaching staff seems to be taking every measure to make sure they add only the right pieces that will
lead to victories and maybe even a playoff birth for 2007.

A key ingredient the new staff is recruiting for is competition. By that I mean, competition at every position. Not
only will this mean a more capable starter, but it will help lead to better depth players across the board. This also
means no player can sit comfortably and feel secure with where they are at on the depth chart. Everyone will
have to keep working hard as more and more players are added knowing that if signed, they all have an equal
chance of competing for time on the field.
THE TEAM
Significant cuts were made at the 2007 Open Public Combine. The staff made sure to select only athletes that fit
the new systems while making sure not to over sign at any one position. This was one of the deepest cuts the
team has ever had the opportunity to make, with also included deactivating currently signed players.

With a number of free agents visiting the Patriot Clubhouse and being interviewed and tested, there could be
even more changes on the horizon. Management made several moves in 2006 to add free agents and there is
confidence that they will make an even bigger impact in free agency this 2007 season.
AROUND THE NAFL
Another shocking change hit Great Lakes Alignment. Though it was projected the former Western Division would
be split up, instead the Western Division has returned in 2007 with a new face. The Wisconsin Bulldogs have
now been added to the division and the Hoosier Hurricanes, Kane County Eagles, Milwaukee Marauders, and
Racine Raiders will once again round out the Division.

Once again, the Great Lakes Region will be made up of three Divisions with a total of 17 teams. The Central
alignment and schedule will remain the same though minor changes are expected in the Erie Lakes Division.
This once again makes the Great Lakes Region one of the premier regions in the NAFL.
ON THE WIRE
The 2007 Combine was a success and many new faces will be added to the roster in this seasons recruiting
class. In the upcoming Patriot Insiders we will highlight many of the new additions. We will start with two this week:

Dave Inman, QB, 6'2" 193 lbs. - Millington, Michigan
As a prep stand out, Inman was named first time All Conference and All Area for Millington High School. The
Millington Cardinals are historically one of the top High School teams in the state in their Division. At 6'2 and
nearly 200 pounds he has good size and showed strong arm strength during the 2007 Combine. Inman is
expected to be in competition for significant playing time in his rookie season.

Chad Jeroue, DT, 5'10" 252 lbs. - St. Claire, Michigan
"Nearly a veteran," is a great way to describe this member of the 2007 recruiting class. Chad Jeroue participated
in two previous Patriot combines and made significant strides in improving his strength for 2007. His height
offers a significant advantage as a defensive lineman in terms of pad level while his frame enables his to retain
decent size at his position. Though listed as a Defensive Tackle, Jeroue may also compete as an offensive
guard and will be used where he best fits the Patriot roster. Versatility is always a great ingredient for linemen.
