ABOUT US
The Genesee County Patriots are a AAA  Minor League Football Organization based in Genesee County. The
organization was founded in September of 2002 by combined efforts of father and son team Leo J. Lyon and
Brad Leo Lyon. Leo is the team's President and General Manager while Brad serves as the program's
Vice-President and Director of Operations.
In their first season (2003), the Patriots played their home games at
11,000 seat, city owned, Atwood Stadium in Flint, Michigan.  After a
two year stint at Pride Stadium in Clio that included two games at Guy
Houston Stadium, the team returned to Atwood Stadium in 2006.
The AA Ohio Valley Football League was the 2003 home to the Genesee County Patriots. However, in 2004 the
Patriots made a couple big moves. The Patriots moved up to the AAA North American Football League (NAFL)
which is the nation's largest football league and has over 100 football teams that not only span all across the
nation but are in other countries as well.

During the 2003-2004 off season, Pride Stadium, home of the Clio Mustangs, became the new Patriot home
field. After playing their home games at Pride Stadium in 2004, a number of construction issues at Clio High
School resulted in the use of Guy Houston Stadium in Flint for two home games during the 2005 season. With
construction issues as well as decreased community support related to those issues, the Patriots returned to
Atwood Stadium in 2006.

After completing the 2005 season, the Patriots opened up their official team head quarters located at 126
Vienna road in downtown Clio, Michigan. The program also announced its first television deal, having three 2006
season home games to be broadcast on Comcast Cable.

The team will enter its sixth season of competition in 2008, offering the Genesee County and surrounding areas
exciting Minor League sports entertainment at an affordable price. With increased community involvement, the
opportunity to build on the Patriots' first playoff qualifying season, and continued support from our business and
community partners, the Patriots look to build on our goals of being a success on and off the field.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Genesee County Patriots Mission is divided in three main goals.

It is the mission of the Genesee County Patriots to provide our fans with the most exciting sporting environment possible at the
best value for your dollar. Our program is dedicated to being competitive and giving our fans a fun experience at all times. This will
be established all inside a safe and secure facility making this a great event for the whole family!

The Genesee County Patriots are also dedicated to being a developmental program to our players. It is our goal to help all
members of our program advance to the levels in the sport they wish to reach and are willing to be dedicated to get there. By
promoting our program's players to their respected levels, whether they are players out of High School still wishing to reach a
strong college program or past college athletes trying to reach the major professional levels, it is our goal to help them get there by
working with such scouting departments to give them their deserved opportunity.

It is also a goal of the Genesee County Patriots to promote and advance the sport of Minor League Football. By raising the level of
organization, competition, and marketing we will help bring Minor League Football to the national spotlight as a major player in
both athlete development and as a competitive sports entertainment business entity.

ATTENDANCE RECORD
The Patriots have a tradition
of great game attendance
such as 2,100 fans on June
7, 2004 against the Tigers.
THE MINOR LEAGUE ATHLETE
The Minor Leagues vary greatly based on association and level. In some cases, roster athletes are compensated
while in other more regulated situations the athletes retain amateur status. In the North American Football
League, all athletes are non-compensated "amateur status" players. What "amateur status" means is those
athletes signed to contracts with NAFL teams retain their college eligibility in the event that those years were not
previously used and the athletes was or is not currently a professionally compensated athlete with another
organization. The NAFL is the world's largest Minor League with over 100 teams through the United States and
Canada and compete on the sport's top Minor League level, AAA.

Players can be and are commonly scouted by College and Professional Football Clubs. This is done both on a
league and individual team basis. The NAFL provides for a national level of scouting on both levels and has
invitation and selection based opportunities for its athletes to directly be tested and interviewed. This includes an
invitation based Pro and College combine held at the end of each season.

Patriot athletes come from all over Michigan and are occasionally recruited from other states. The experience
level of the Patriot athlete ranges immensely from those with NFL experience (
Ex: Jeff Klopf, Cleveland Browns),
college stand outs (
Ex: Bo Moore, 2X All American, Ferris State University), to others who were local High School Heroes
and a few who were simply late bloomers with limited prior experience.

One thing they all have in common, they play for the love of the game!
