ROSTER ROOM MADE, MANY RELEASED Sunday - December 31, 2006 Patriot management makes a surprising move and releases a big list of names prior to the start of free agency. Many of the contracts were set to expire soon, yet, a good number of the athletes listed were signed through 2008. Players released include such names as two former two time NCAA All Americans and several Minor League All Stars.
While freeing up roster spots for the Patriots, this move also allows the released athletes to become free agents and sign with other teams.
